Lehigh Valley International Airport has unveiled its brand new, expanded terminal and TSA checkpoint. Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority Executive Director Tom Stoudt says it's a big day for the airport and its customers. "This $35 million infrastructure investment alleviates a number of operational challenges, but also elevates the customer experience for all of our passengers on Allegiant, American, Delta and United," Stoudt says. One of the biggest additions ia a new TSA screening lane, which will enable screeners to clear 700 passengers per hour as compared to 400 before today.

After attending a ribbon cutting for Lehigh Valley International Airport's new, expanded terminal, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro toured recent flood damage in Bangor. Shapiro began his tour at the corner of South Main and Messinger streets.

All state roads in Northampton County closed by flooding two weeks ago have been reopened according to PennDOT. Those roads had been closed due to flooding July 16th and were reopened earlier this week.

A Plymouth Meeting man shot nearly two years ago in the Lehigh Valley has died from his wounds. The Lehigh County Coroner's Office says 29-year-old Roniel Santos-Rivera died early Thursday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest from complications of a gunshot wound to the head and his death has been ruled a homicide. Santos-Rivera was shot back in August 2021 on West Linden Street in Allentown.

Saturday's weather could be a little dicey according to Accu-Weather's Brandon Buckingham. "That heat is going to kind of fuel, provide some energy for showers and heavy thunderstorms that could blossom from the late morning into the afternoon," Buckingham says. Any of those storms could bring flooding downpours and damaging wind gusts according to Buckingham.
