British pop star Rita Ora has landed a plum role in the much-anticipated Fifty Shades Of Grey movie.
Sources tell TheWrap.com Ora will play Mia, the adopted younger sister of Jamie Dornan's Christian Grey character. Rita confirmed the news on Twitter:
The 23-year-old singer has been recording and acting since a young age. She recently made a cameo in Fast & Furious 6. Ora has enjoyed success on the British charts with her debut album ORA and is preparing to release her second album in the spring.
Meantime, production is under way for Fifty Shades of Grey. Author E.L. James confirmed on Instagram that the first day of shooting was Sunday in Vancouver. Production was delayed after Dornan was brought in to replace Charlie Hunnam who left the project before cameras began rolling.
The movie, which also stars Dakota Johnson as "Grey's" leading lady Anastasia Steele, is expected to be released in February 2015.
