Kelly Clarkson is showing her support for Musicians On Call - and setting a record in the process.
The singer's benefit concert last Thursday at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville raised more than $106,000 for the local branch of the charity, and set a record for the most money ever generated at a single event for the Nashville outlet.
Kelly says she's glad to help, because Musicians On Call appeals to her "for so many reasons." She says she loves how the organization "creates opportunities for musicians to play" for both patients and their loved ones - which she believes is an especially valuable service for those who are hospitalized during holidays.
Kelly also recognized the season with her show. Her set featured a selection of hits along with material from her new Christmas album, Wrapped In Red.
And Clarkson didn't just raise money through her concert. She also made a deal with the Hard Rock to help the organization. She's giving the venue the dress she wore for her performance at the 2012 American Music Awards, and the Hard Rock is giving Musicians On Call a $9,000 donation.
