A hiker was seriously injured Wednesday after falling off a trail leading to Glen Onoko Falls in Jim Thorpe. The man, who is from Philadelphia, fell 10-to-15 feet sometime before 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.  It took firefighters about two hours to reach the victim, who was treated at the scene and taken to a nearby hospital.  The man's condition has not been released.

A 21-year-old Bangor man is charged with raping two boys several times while he was a teenager.  Police say Thomas Zeiber sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy several times between 2010 and 2012, while that boy was six-to-eight-years old.  That boy told police Zeiber sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy during the same time period and that second boy confirmed the assaults.  Court records indicate Zeiber has admitted to at least 10 assaults.

A 93-year-old Freemansburg man is dead due to complications of hypothermia.  The Lehigh County Coroner's Office says Aurelio Augusta fell sometime before 9:30 Sunday night at his home in the 500 block of Monroe Street.  He died Tuesday morning at St. Luke's University Hospital.  The man's death has been ruled accidental.

A Palmer Township teen is accused of violating a protection-from-abuse order and having multiple bags of marijuana.  Raekwon Washington is charged with resisting arrest and possession of a small amount of marijuana.  Officers were called to a home early Wednesday morning in the 1000 block of Washington Street for a reported fight between a man and a woman.  Police say they found ten bags of marijuana and Washington was taken to Northampton County Prison.

Gov. Tom Wolf is optimistic about state budget talks.  The governor says discussions are starting out in a "far better place" than in previous years.  Wolf acknowledges there will still be conversations, but said there is a different tone now than before.  Wolf presented his budget last week and budget hearings began Monday.

The time and location of the public memorial service for Al Boscov is being changed.  The service is now set for 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Santander Arena in Reading.  The service will also be shown live on WFMZ-TV.  Boscov was the chairman of the Berks County-based Boscov's department stores.  He died last Friday at the age of 87 after a brief battle with cancer.

The New Jersey State Assembly is one step closer to improving restricting opioid drugs.  It passed a bill that requires a doctor to limit an initial prescription to five days in hopes of staving off addiction.  The bill would not affect those with cancer or chronic pain.  It also requires insurance companies to cover drug abuse treatment.  Gov. Chris Christie made battling opioid addiction a priority in his State of the State address last month.

While he won't publicly set a wins goal for the upcoming season, Phillies General Manager Matt Klentak expects better results.  "The 2017 Phillies should be better than the 2016 Phillies," Klentak says.  He says that's due to younger players continuing to improve.  Last year's Phillies finished 71-91.
